It is psychology.
Caitlin is bored and not doing work.
My chair is too high and I can't reach the keyboard. I also can't reach the ground. I am a midget.
Now I can reach the ground but I still can't reach the keyboard.
I'm not wearing shoes ^-^ I feel like a free-spirited hippie because I'm sitting in a computer lab with bare feet ^-^
Maddie dreweded a flower on my foot :)
School is boring.
I had vita brits for breakfast this morning :)
Blargh. Everything is too boring to talk about :P
We're going on a mad cycling trek around random parts of Victoria these coming holidays. In the first week. And and and it should be fun. Hopefully. Boy has expressed interest in being kidnapped and cycling with us. Plus cousin-family are coming, and possibly a family that they're friends with as well. And I should be able to go say hi to my friends who live there ^_^
And the parents say we might be able to get a puppy when we get back :) I want a border collie because they're absolutely adorable. They are friendly and snuggly and cute. Like my boy ^_^ But with fur and a tail.
I want to draw more flowers on my feet, now. But it would probably look like I had some weird foot disease >.>
We went over to Eddison Park for lunch yesterday because it was nice and sunny. I lay in the grass and absorbed heat. And then I stayed there for the second half of line three, which was bad of me because I was meant to go to English, but oh well, it was worth it. Except now my arms are really really itchy. I think it's from the grass :(
Hrm... I can think of nothing to do. Blargh.
It's getting into summer, woo ^_^ I lovesies the summerness. Course, technically it's not even spring yet, but the weather is so nice ^_^ It's loverly loverly loverly. I can't wait for it to get properly warm so I can go swimming lots. I like swimming, it makes me happy happy ^_^
BLARGH
I have thirty-five minutes of class left. Maybe I should work on my speech thing. Or my drama essay. Or read my thingy ma jiggit for ToK. Or perhaps get the English essay topic of Maddie-bear. I missed getting it when I didn't go yesterday :( And we're going to get topics for ToK orals soon :(
Apparenlty I am now Stulinbutt. Because Maddie and Skye call Stuart Stubutt (because they are... odd). And now they have decided that Caitlin + Stubutt = Stulinbutt. Apparently we are now one entity.
...
Peculiar people. Ah well :)
Blargle blargle blarg. Jess needs to update more often. She needs to spend her classtime writing blogs instead of working, yuss yuss. Like I did in year ten :)
Course, I didn't do too well in year ten. Psh =p
Anyvays. I shall now proceed to find some new way to entertain myself and avoid working. Too-ra :)

I have done at least one constructive thing these holidays (so far)
And, I plan to do more. The constructive thing I've done so far, though, is make a bag :)
It's very pretty :)

The other things I plan to do are learn a new song on piano, and clean my room. If I manage to clean my room, I will upload photos as proof :P
But yes...
I am baby-sitting on this coming Wednesday, for some strangers who are going to give me a minimum of ten dollars an hour for eight hours. Rosalind baby-sits for them, but she's in the Blue Mountains on Wednesday, so they asked if she had any friends who could do it, so she rang me and I rang them and now I will have money.
So yay.
Anyway, hungriness.

Power to the Shakespeare Nerds...
I am so bored.
Nothing has been happening, except for a little driving yesterday. That was pretty cool.
Sigh.
Bored.
Apparently power used by appliances on stand-by accounts for 10% of all power used domestically in Australia. That is, things that may as well be off are using that much of your power. All the appliances in my house are too old to actually have stand-by modes. We don't have remotes for the TVs or a microwave. This computer is seven years old and it wasn't even good when we bought it. Therefore, crappy appliances = eco-friendly. Techno-phobic mothers = eco-friendly. Unfortunately, they're also annoying as anything. Gr.
Mm... family is talking about going camping on Friday. That would be very awesome, provided they don't make me go. I do not want to go camping with my family. I argue constantly with Connor and often with Bridie. It would be a very unpleasant experience for all. A far more pleasant experience would be them going camping, because they want to, and me staying home, because I want to. Separately. Because I don't want to be with them. The parents understand that. Hopefully I will be able to stay home alone from Friday morning till about midday Saturday. Chances are I won't do anything interesting, but at least I can do nothing at all without having to avoid my brother and youngest sister while doing so.
Bored, as I said.
Watching TV. Fun-fun.
Anyway...
Bored.
Now to go kill time in some other inventive and pointless way.

Like a Salad
Today is Thursday, right? I think so. Well anyway.
Tuesday night Skye had a movie night ^-^ And, it was so funny. We were supposed to be watching scary movies, but we kept making random comments all through Grudge 2 and that kind of killed the scariness of it a bit, and then Texas Chainsaw Massacre wasn't 'scary', so much as 'unpleasant'. And it was getting repetitive by about twenty minutes in, so we stopped watching that and just sat around giggling instead. Mandy went home instead of staying overnight, and Terri fell asleep at around two, so they missed out on the Salad/Haystack/Puppy Relationship Analysis Metaphor conversation... but before that, when we were still watching movies, we had a bowl of melted chocolate, and lots of marshmallows... that was so yummy ^-^ And, and, Skye spiked my milo! With coffee! I don't like coffee. But she thought I needed caffeine (I didn't) so she put it in there anyway, and I could tell, before I even had a sip, I could smell it, even though it was like, one eighth of a teaspoon of coffee and four teaspoons of milo. My super nose can detect your secretive caffeination! Anyway, the salad/haystack/puppy thing was interesting. Anisha (no idea how to spell her name >.<) was saying that they say when you fall off a horse you need to get back on right away or you won't be able to get back on at all, and she was saying that relationships-wise, she had fallen off the horse, and not only had she not got back on, but she had run to the other side of the paddock, into the stable, locked the door, grabbed a pitchfork, and hidden in a haystack. And we had all these strange extended metaphors involving Mr Rights and their ability to create bicycles out of horse bones (long story) and whether she should feed the hay to the horse or what. And then somehow or other Skye's relationship was compared to a salad, and there was a discussion about whether tomato should be mushed into the carpet or washed and put back into the salad if it falls on the floor. Very long story indeed. The puppy thing was strange and irrelevant... irrelevant, I tells ya... Terri was asleep so we couldn't involve her, but we decided to compare Ryan to a plank of wood. No, I didn't get it either, but it seemed to make sense to Anisha and maybe Skye, at the time, and it was like, 5.30 in the morning and we were still giggling madly, and Skye's mum got up and went to work before we fell asleep. It was... interesting. Fun.
Anyway, Freya had a pile of friends over yesterday/last night and they made one hell of a lot of noise, and two of them in particular were keeping the others awake longer than they wanted to be, and they were all very insane and whatnot and apparently they got almost-kicked-out of a café earlier in the day for being too noisy, which really didn't surprise me too much. But still. I slept through all their noise because I was so tired ^-^
Anyway, I be's bored. I've been doing pretty much nothing at all all day =) Mother and Freya keep not letting me make plans because they say "we'll go to the art gallery today", and then they go off and make other plans. So we don't end up going and in the meantime, they haven't let me go out and do stuff. Gr.
Bleh, I'm all confused and whatnot about how I'm feeling at the moment. But because it's a how-I'm-feeling that involves other people, I'm not gonna go into it.
Anyways, I'm off.

Furry Sea Slug (Not A Euphemism)
Well, I spent the weekend and Broulee, and the only sand I touched was on the tennis court. And other than that, I didn't leave the house once. I sat around reading trashy novels and playing guitar instead ^-^ I can now play the chorus of American Pie by heart, as well as some random Spanish song and the funny little squeak notes from the beginning of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
Well, when Adair booked the apartment thing, she was given a choice of 8 or 9. She chose 9. So we were settling in and watching TV when the owners of apartment 9 turned up. Apparently the real estate agents weren't actually meant to have rented it out. So the agent guy turned up, gave us the key to 8, grumbling all along, and said to go and see him in the morning, when he wasn't so grumpy. He said, "I was just about to go to bed, you know.". Well, so were we, and it would have been fine if you had given us the right freaking apartment in the first place. But we got a discount when it came to paying and he offered a discount next time we book through that agent, too. So.
Anyway, the children spent most of the time running to and from the shops, wasting money on lollies.
If it's possible for guitars to feel jealous, my poor guitar will have died of envy. Uncle Nigel has a new guitar, see, and was teaching me, and his guitar is amazing ^-^ It's it's it's beautiful, and the strings are soooo smooth, and it's so easy to press down the strings, and it sounds, so, so good, and and and it can work as an electric guitar as well as acoustic and and and mine is good, and all, but the strings, ow, pain. They're rough as anything and damn near impossible to hold down. It was just so much easier to play Nigel's. Anyway, as I'm back home my guitar is in use again, and my fingers have almost finished toughening up. They still get great ditches in them after I play for a while, but at least I can't really feel them anymore.
Anyway... nobody's online, and I'm feelink like retreating to my room and doing nothing.
Too-ra.
Oh, and the furry sea slug is this random wrist rest we got. It's all flobbity doowhatsy and squishy, but it's got this furry sort of skin stuff on it. It is not some sort of god-awful euphemism. Bleurgh... *shudders*

OMG Zombie Jesus!
Today is the best school day evarr:
Maths first, we spent the whole lesson mucking around with the calculators.
Double drama - first half, we ran around screaming playing some random name, and everybody got nicknamed for some reason - Hayley was "Swan", Rosalind was "Stripey", I was "Angel", Anna was "Skeleton". Strange names, but a fun game.
Second half we did this random space game, where you have to invent a room, and move around it while doing something, like, creating an imaginary kitchen and making breakfast, and the audience calls out if you do something wrong - like if you act like there's a bench somewhere, and then walk through it. Or if you leave the imaginary fridge open. It was awesome :P Morgan walked over the top of an imaginary swimming pool, and then dropped the imaginary sausages in it, so Lauren dived in, put the sausages in her pocket (Shuddup, don't you dare take that the wrong way) and Morgan somehow became Jesus, used an imaginary table as an imaginary toilet, and was kicked out of the imaginary house. Clarissa also at once stage put one of her guests into the imaginary fridge - on purpose =P
Anyway, now tis line 2, and I have line 2s off. Then lunch, then line 2, then psychology.
Only, I'm going to the beach :P
Twas somehow decided yesterday that I was going to Broulee with my aunt's family for the weekend, so, I don't have to go to psychology. Instead, Adair is collecting my brother and I at 2 o'clock, and we're heading down to Broulee. How awesome? Very awesome.
So yeah, been playing lots of guitar and re-killing my fingertips. They'd gone tough and numb, but then they went all delicate and weak again when I didn't play for a while, so now they hurt. But tis all good. Music is worth sore fingers =P
Anyway, must be off. Bags to pack, and all. Everybody enjoy their weekends ^-^

Un-Ducks
I have these, like... constant pins & needles in my hands. And sometimes my arms. It's weird. And sort of painful.
So, I went and played tennis again yesterday. I got burnt again, but only a tiny bit where my sleeves moved after I put on sunscreen. My arm stopped hurting (It started hurting last time I played, cause I'm so unfit >.>). That was good. We went and got ice creams from the Curtin milk bar afterwards cause we couldn't find a carpark at the Yarralumla shops. Beh, Curtin's cheaper anyway. And their Coles is cheaper than Deakin's IGA. I know because Mother is always rambling about it. Clearly her tendency to ramble has rubbed off on me =P As well as Father's habit of waffling on when people aren't really listening. But he's a dear old thing, really.
I've been driving a fair bit. Round those half-built mansion places in that billionaire East O'Malley Estate place. Father drives me out, we get out, stick the L-plates on, and I tear around the place like a maniac. At 40km/h. And occasionally stopping unintentionally in the middle of round-a-bouts. Also I nearly hit a cyclist today. >.> But I am gradually but steadily improving. Father suggested we bring Mother along on Sunday. Mother sounded terrified at the idea =)
But yeah... generally my days go as follows:
11am - Get up, make toast with cheese and tonnes of those unidentified herb things. Read newspaper slowly. Answer a few clues in the crossword (or Sudoku, if mum hasn't done it already).
12 - sit around playing random guitar
12.30 - waste time on the intar-webz
1.30 - read or listen to music (or both)
2.30 - listen to music or read (or both)
3.30/4 - drag Father out to O'Malley and drive in circles until he falls asleep
5.30/6 - wake dad up & go home
6 - waste time, read, play guitar, watch dad work on The Cubby (Cubby may be explained in some other post)
7 - dinner, dessert, TV with family (including liberally insulting the children)
9/10/10.30 (depending on TV) - wander off to bed. Read/listen to music/write
11pm - start trying to sleep
3/4am - get to sleep
6am - wake up. Drift in and out of sleep until 11.
Repeat daily.
Because my holidays are being so monotonous and repetitive, I'm not really blogging much. I promise there will be exciting and stressed out blogs as often as I can manage when college starts!
Also, I'm going to Broulee for a week from Monday (8/1/07). So there will be no posts during that week (unless I get to an internet cafe, which I doubt will happen. Broulee is really too small for internet). However! I will try to keep a handwritten record of my boring everyday happenings. Then when I get home I can type it up and post it. But yeah...
Pins & needles haven't stopped. I have a glow-in-the-dark lizard.
Sigh, grumble. I'm sure my family will be relieved when college starts. I've been so tetchy and irritable with them. No idea why, they're being no more annoying than usual. I just keep wanting to swear (which everyone should know is something I don't often do) and hit things which I also don't often do). I don't know. I'm being a complete bitch to them all, and totally intolerant, which I hate. It's strange, I can tolerate and accept big things, but little things like my brother whining about whihch flavoured icy pole he got (he's bloody lucky to get any) and my littlest sister trying to act like me (If only she knew what a bad idea that was) are making me snap, and I want to throw tantrums and slam doors and be selfish and childish. And when I'm not doing that I'm' ignoring or avoiding them all.
I'm being a horrible daughter/sister/neice/cousin/granddaughter.
Ah well. All I can do is try harder tomorrow.
And I just wish these stupid pins & needles would go away.
Beh, offwards with me.
...
I think this toast is addictive.

Bridie says: "I can feel the pulse in your toe"
Okee okee okee.
I spent New Year's Eve playing pictionary and charades with my family and neighbours :P
Amazingly, it was quite fun. The adults were suitably inebriated and I got to see my neighbour try to act out the words 'variety show' with no noise. It involved singing silently and some very talented tap-dancing. I also got to see my father acting out the word 'mermaid'. That was the funniest thing I have ever seen my father do ^-^
Anyway, we finished that up around eleven, and then stood around singing and playing piano till 11.30.
And then....
Bwahahahha...
We went on a walk. We were skipping and dancing and singing all the way up the hill, where we stopped and swung on the swings, and then came back down again just in time for midnight, which was spent watching the jtv countdown. For the whole ten seconds.
But yeah. Peoples made resolutions, neighbours left, everyone went to bed. I sat around playing guitar for a while and then read a book (beginning to end, took me about 45 minutes), and then went to bed.
I refuse to make challenging New Year's Resolutions. I shall make resolutions I know I'll keep, so I can feel like I've achieved something at the end of the year.
I will learn to drive, I will learn guitar, and I will try - no promises, mind you - to stop burping at my sister.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year, and hope nobody is too hungover =P

Good Morning Toast
Three things from least to most important:
One:
OMFG I have hiccups. I HATE hiccups.
Two:
There is THE hugest storm outside. I mean, what the hell. It hardly rained in winter, it didn't rain at all last summer, it was boiling hot this morning and now there's t his HUGE storm. Massive hail and lots of it, lighting striking Oakey Hill and Woden Valley (Above and below my house, respectively)... I'm guessing the power will go out soon.
Three:
I was driving this afternoon.Round in circles and then reversing in circles and parking absolutely perfectly. There were a woman and a dog and a boy on a unicycle and I didn't hit them. Admittly they weren't actually IN the carpark I was driving in, but they were there. I drove up a street thing and reversed down it without damaging anything. And father and I both survived the whole thing ^-^ It was funny, because I got in the car at the start, and had to spend five minutes trying to stop myself cackling insanely.
Anyway, those are those three things.
I was playing tennis this morning with teh family and teh aunt's family at the Yarralumla tennis courtsies [Random reminder to self - Open Your Eyes was used as background music for the ABC news' overview of the year]. And I like, totally beat everyone else (Like, totally!), except for Darcy. So that was pretty fun, even though I'm rather sunburnt now.
Also today, I was in the middle of spending something like three and a half hours on the computer, when Freya came in with...
Eyes Open. Snow Patrol's new(ish) album. Only problem was that we already had the best songs from it from friends and LimeWire.
Anyway, apparently the neighbours are coming over for drinks tonight. Here's hoping the adults get thoroughly sloshed and do embarrassing things I can video and use against them as blackmail.
But yes. Click PhotoBucket link. Click 'Photos'. Click 'Videos'. Check out my dodgy guitar playing.
Now, I'm off. Tootlés.

Tomato-Headed Real Estate Agent
Heheh.
Heh.
Eh....
I went on a wandering walk to Mt. Taylor and back with my parents the other evening.
It was pretty good. We were wandering along, and I was watching my hands, and I had this sudden random mental image of my hands talking to each other. I'm not entirely sure why, but I found this really, really funny, and burst into a fit of mad giggling.
Oh, man, you should have seen the look on mother's face when I explained it. There has never been a more 'What the fuck' expression on anyone's face, I swear.
It was almost as funny as the idea of my hands talking to each other.
Anyway, I don't even remember what day that was on. I don't know what day it is today, either.
But yeah...
Anyone who happened to be talking to me a couple of days ago may have noticed I was in a quite odd mood.
Bleh, is all I have to say.
I'm always hyperactive, because it's easier than thinking. And when I get left alone with no conversation, I think. Thinking is bad. Basically I almost always end up crying for some unknown reason.
Which is why I always act hyperactive and random. The other day, I just... stopped acting hyperactive. Sooooort of broke down a little.
It's all good, though. Tis no one and nothing's fault, and Caitlin is all good again =)
I apologise for the inconvenience :P
Anyway, I went down to Woden with Freya the other day, cause we got vouchers, and I got a blue top from Supre, and the girl gave me my change in cash (rather than writing out a voucher for the amount of change, as she was meant to do), so I got an ice cream from Wendy's and a headband from Diva, too. That was pretty cool.
But yeah. I keeps listeningk to this awesome Eskimo Joe CD...
Songs on it are:
Comfort You
New York
Black Fingernails, Red Wine
Breaking Up
Setting Sun
London Bombs
Sarah
This Is Pressure
Beating Like A Drum
Reprise
Suicide Girl
How Does It Feel
My favourite is London Bombs, and I badly want to get the piano music for it. It's superfully prettiful.
Other ones I like are Comfort You, Black Fingernails, Red Wine, Breaking Up, and the Reprise.
New York, Sarah and Suicide Girl are pretty cool, too.
The rest are okay, but not great.
Eskimo Joe = goodness.
Their lyrics aren't particularly amazing, but the music is damn awesome.
They do have some little nice bits of lyrics, but not like, pure amazingness type lyrics, like Snow Patrol's. But hey.
IAnd if you're scared about the future
I'm scared about the past
Neh... I has learned a total of two and a half chords on guitar.
Hurrah.
It's three, sort of, but the third one sounds totally wrong, so I have to double check the notes.
But yes. I brought my guitar downstairs to show Freya my small achievement, and Adair took the guitar off me and just sat around playing music, and everybody clapped for her, so I just gave up and came upstairs.
Gee, that *really* made me feel great about my utter lack of ability. I mean, I was proud of myself for learning two chords. But no, apparently I'm supposed to be able to play all kinds of songs.
Gr...
I can play songs, but not properly, just the notes of the melody, not the chords, not the guitar notes, and bleurgh.
Stupid bloody Adair making me look even worse.
>=(
I was lying on the sofa a week or so ago, watching the iTunes visualiser and listening to music of some sort, and dad was standing around for some reason, and I was like, "You know what'd be really cool? Having like... an iTunes visualiser... as the ceiling... and then having like... lava lamp walls... that'd be so cool... and you could just lie around and watch all the swirly colours... heh... colours..."
And it was vaguely amusing at the time, even though I don't remember why.
But damn, that would be so cool. Except that lava lamps get hot, and I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to touch the glass, and would probably end up burning myself.
Ah well...
It's a fun idea... and then to have like, speakers under the floor... and then play music so loud that it made the floor shake. And you could just lie on the floor and watch the ceiling or the walls or whatever... man that'd be awesome.
But I shall have to make do with the visualiser on my computer.
And I was wrong to let you know
So drink your coffee and catch your bus
But yes, offwards time for Caitlin.
*waves*

Blame Bob
Bloggedy bloggedy blog. Boing.
Bleh... boredom. Got up around midday today, wasted time on the computer...
Went out to Teh Museum. Mother, Nana, Freya, Bridie, Connor, Hamish and I drove out, Aunty Adair rode out, and Darcy was dropped there by Uncle Nigel after we'd been there long enough to -
Baby's got mama's eyes
She was always beautiful
When you hear his voice
Feel his arms around you
You remember mama smilin'
Daddy's little girl
Bad weather
Cold media storm
- see Circa and kspace, and had gone out to sit around in that watery gardenny place. Ignore the random lyrics there, just had to type 'em. Awesome song, and all. Anyway, then we went wandering around to see the other exhibits, including a place where you could leave notes saying what your favourite part of the museum was (Darcy left one saying "Cheese", I left one saying "Cheese teapot bubble pie" and Freya left one saying "Circa", boring girl =P ) and, of course, the cafe. Where we bought slushies. The slushie flavours were Dish-washing Detergent Green and Rotten Strawberry Chemical Red. Yum yum.
Anyway, then we abandoned Darcy at the museum, cause he couldn't fit in the car, and he was trying to call Uncle Nigel to collect him, but Nigel wouldn't pick up the phone. So we just left him at the museum. Aunty Adair rode back, and we took Hamish back home, where we arrived just as Uncle Nigel was leaving and just as Aunty Adair was getting home.
Nyes... then we went past the shops, where Nana, Freya and I stayed in the car and Freya and I played random staring games, and Nana got wished a "Merry Christmas, mate" by some random guy passing the car. Mother and the childerbeast went in and gotted foodz for dinner and t'morrer's lunch. But yes... food. Yummy.
Anyway, I'm off for now.
Merry Commercialised Myth, everybody =)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done
And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here
Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear
Louder, louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say
To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbyes
I nearly do
Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear
Louder, louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say
Slower, slower
We don't have time for that
I just want to find an easy way
To get out of our little heads
Have heart, my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess
Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear
~~~~~~~~
Oh yes, I remember now. I had the most random, random, random dream last night. It was like, the formal, only then, everybody went outside and there was a game of soccer. Except these birds kept swooping, and one landed in my hair, and then for some reason I was in these elevators of doom that led to all these random like, parallel universes or something, and then the bird was my pet. Only, I couldn't find anybody I knew, and everyone ended up in different universes, and I was all lost and alone and stuffs, and there were weird things like places where everything was patchwork jelly or where it was like the inside of a label and really weird places like that. And then I ended up back at the start, sitting on the side of the soccer match and watching, while holding that same random bird, and talking to Peoples... hm. Very strange dream, anyway, but at least it ended vaguely well.
Anyway, I'm off. *waves*

Ladies and Gentlemen, we interrupt your regular programming...
Firstly! Before the blog! Melissa, Bridie's friend, says she likes my style :P
A round of applause for my style, everybody! Hehehe.
Blog:
Another night, it's gonna be a long one...
I've found the flash drive I used to use to transfer long blogs from here to there (laptop to mac), SO voila. Instant long blog. Well, almost instant.
Hmm...
Well, everyone keeps asking how my Christmas shopping is going. Er... how's crap for an answer? I don't have any bloody money, how the hell am I supposed to buy presents... It's do frustrating, because Freya's gone and spent all her own money on presents for the rest of the family, and the way we normally do things is that mum and dad pay for say, ten dollar presents for each of the kids to give each other. Now Freya's gone and got everybody all sorts of things, and she's so excited about giving gifts, it's so sweet, and I can't get her anything good in return, because I have no money. Buying things for other people is the only reason I really want money, and therefore sort of need a job.
Blah... So basically mother bought a cheap plastic thing on behalf of Bridie and me to give to Freya, and I feel really bad because it's not good enough. And she's so excited about whatever it is she's getting/got me. She's all, "You're sooooo gonna love my prezzie for you!" and I'm all, "Ah, crap."
But yes... I also want to buy things for friends, and mother doesn't finance presents for anyone outside the family, and as I have no money at all, I just can't get gifts for people. Which sucks a lot.
Anyway, in other news...
Well yeah, my nana's staying with us for Christmas, which is pretty cool. My nana's awesome.
I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon
After all I knew it had to be something to do with you
I really don't mind what happens now and then
As long as you'll be my friend at the end
Anyway, ignoring my random 3 Doors Down outburst...
Yeah, nana is cool. She's great to talk to, she talks the exact way I wish I could. That is, enthusiastically but sensibly, well-thought out and involved arguments. And when I say 'arguments', I mean it in a debating/essay writing sort of way. Not that we don't argue; two similar minds will always find fault with each other. But damn, if we're both on the same side about something, we will talk for hours, and end up repeating ourselves without realising, because we just, bounce ideas off each other, and end up with these huge long spiels as to why we think what we do and why it's right, and like... very, very cool.
Nana is awesome. She's an incredibly intelligent woman. And she's not lost one ounce of that intelligence over the years. She's often surprisingly similar to me. Smart, sarcastic, stubborn, silly at random times, amongst other things. Man, I need to stop using words that start with 's'. =P But yes, we also both have a lot in common with my mother. Which means the three of us will have great conversations, but are also likely to argue over trivial things and not admit we're wrong.
We went to the National Gallery today. Not to see that Egyptian exhibit, we're too broke for that. Only, it's only $6 for me, cause I still count as a child (6-15). But it's $20 for mother, and we're that broke that we can't afford that. Anyway, we were wandering around, and mother and I started laughing madly about something, I can't even remember what it was now, and then nana joined in, and just... it's great, to be able to get along so well with my family. I know so many people who are constantly arguing and fighting with their parents, or who think their grandparents are boring, and I feel very lucky to have such a cool family. =)
But yes... we went to the member's lounge (immature sniggering goes here. Oh, man, my mind is perverted) and the mother and grandmother had coffee, and I had... dun dun dun... iced chocolate! I haven't had iced chocolate in so long... XD Tis so yummy! But yes. We got into the member's lounge cause nana's a member of the national gallery... club... thing... whatever it is.
Anyway.
My father was brushing my brother's hair this evening, and said, "You need to get your hair cut, little fellow. We both do." and Connor protested vehemently, saying he wanted to have his hair "like Uncle David's".
Weeeelll... My Uncle David's hair comes down to about fifteen centimetres below his shoulders. And then he's semi-bald on top -.-"
Presumably Connor was only talking about the long hair part of that. I'd encourage him, I think long hair is cute, but I really doubt it would suit him. Also, I think his hair is just the wrong type to grow like that. There are photos of dad when he wasn't so bald - not that he's amazingly bald now, but he's certainly thinning - and his hair, when he kept it longer (As was the fashion in those days... =P) was just sort of, shaggy. Instead of growing down, it grew out. And I suspect Connor's hair would do the same thing. Mother doesn't want him to have long hair, anyway.
Bah... long hair is superness. And very fun to mess up. Bwahahah ^-^
But yes. My aunt's three sons have all had long hair at some stage or other, and the youngest still has long hair now, but it's all, curly, type stuff, and just cuteliness, which wouldn't work in Connor's hair. That's Hamish, the little one with long hair. Darcy, the middle one, has had varying lengths of hair, but Darcy has that irritating air about him of being able to make anything stylish, so what he does with his hair doesn't matter. Angus, the oldest of those cousins, has reasonably short hair now, but it was long and curly and blond when he was little... we have photos to prove it! Embarrassing family photos! Bwahahahaha... but yes.
Wow.
I just wrote like, four paragraphs about hair.
My god I am lame ^-^
Hehe.
Anyway, Vanessa came over before. Vanessa is my neighbour, and she used to be my piano teacher, and I babysit for her a lot. She came bearing... large amounts of piano music!! The exact thing I've been whining about not having enough of for the past few months! Unfortunately, I already have most of it. But it should give me something to entertain myself with during the holidays. Which is good, because otherwise I'll just sleep all day.
Though I do plan to try to clean out my room at some stage. Mother says if I clean my room I can paint the walls... very cool. And when I say 'paint', I mean like, paint. With pictures. And I know exactly what I want to paint. I refuse to tell any of you, though, and if it goes ahead and succeeds, I shall take multitudes of photos and post them all up here.
Touch my tears
With your lips
Touch my world
With your fingertips
Mm, random interjection of sweet music... <3 =P
So much I
Wish I could
So many I
Wish I would
So much I
Wish I could
Count on you not to defeat me
Please don't turn away
Again
Please don't turn me in
To them
Please don't turn away
A friend
Please don't turn me in
To them
Storm In A Teacup is better, though. And 21st Century. Damn that song is awesome.
Anyways... I shall leave you with (Dun da daaaa):
Random lyrics to a song I don't particularly like and haven't heard in ages (because I usually skip it):
The winter here's cold
And bitter
It's chilled us to the bone
I haven't seen the sun in weeks
Too long too far from home
I feel just like I"m sinking
And I claw for a solid ground
Pulled down by the undertow
Never thought I could feel so low
In the lone darkness I feel like letting go
With all of the strength
All of the courage
Come and lift me from this place
I know I can love you much better than this
It's better this way
I'd say
Haven't seen this place before
And everything we say and do
Hurts us all the more
Just that we've stayed
Too long
In the same old sickly skin
Pulled down by the undertow
I never thought I could feel so low
In the lone darkness I feel like letting go
With all of the strength
All of the courage
Come and lift me from this place
I know I can love you much better than this
I know I can love you much better than this
It's better this way...
And while I'm listening to vaguely depressing music:
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places
Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere
Going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression
No espression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow
No tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Vhildren waiting for he day they feel good
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen
Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me
No one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me
Look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world
Off for now, tootles all!
A friend
Please don't turn me in
To them

Thirty-eight
Thirty-eight fucking degrees.
It is too hot to breathe.
It is too hot to see.
It is too hot to hear.
It is too hot to move.
Thirty-fucking-eight-fucking-degrees.
Now y'all know I normally avoid swearing, but fuck. I am nothing but a method of displaying thoroughly sweat-soaked clothes. I'm eating ice cubes, hugging a bottle of very cold water, and have two fans turned on me.
It is still too hot...
I need to go down to Woden and get me a dress.
Like that nice one Freya has... But maybe in brown instead of red... Dresses are nice. I don't have any at the moment, and I haven't had any since I was like, eight. Mostly because I always sit in strange positions. Positions that, were I wearing a dress, would be permanently scarring to anyone who happened to glance in my direction. But I want a dress, and I can refrain from sitting with one leg on either side of the computer if it means I can have a dress and my dignity. So now there's the simple matter of having no money at all. Yep, I spent that mp3 player money already. But I might be able to convince mother or father to finance a dress, seeing as I currently have like, no clothes...
But yeah...
I stayed up till like, 4.30am last night, lying to myself that I was trying to do that world issues assignment, when really I was just talking to people, reading comics and playing games. So I was totally exhausted and didn't finish the assignment. So mother let me have the first three lessons and lunch off; I stayed home to do the assignment. And I did the same thing again. Ain't I clever? But I think I have the information I need, so I can steal the laptop and do it tonight. It means I'll have another night with no sleep, but the internet won't be there for me to distract myself with, so. Work should be done.
But yeah, got to school, signed in, slept through maths, like, literally, I sat down and immediately fell asleep, and woke up after the bell had gone and nearly everyone had gone to their next classes, staggered to science and fell asleep again. Neither Madeleine nor Jared was there, and there was no way I could possibly stay awake on my own to do the work, so I just collapsed, but apparently the whole class gets an extension till Thursday, even though we have a test that lesson. I also have a maths test the lesson before that, for which I need to check I know the stuff.
Bleurgh.
I feel like writing this huge long emotional rant that's been floating round my head since science, but I know I'll remember the general idea and be able to write it out later, to some particular person, rather than throwing my insanity out to anyone who reads this, and I can write it *later*, after I've had a shower and lay down with music and a lot of fans.
Nap-time.
I'd say *hugs* but if I touch anything or anyone I will become permanently attached to them, through the icky stickiness of summer humidity and sweat...
Even though it's only spring! Gah, it went right from winter to summer, missing my favourite season... bleurgh.
Anyway, nap-time. Will probably add some rant about Christmas when I wake up.
Tootles. =)
Voila:
Everyone's all excited about Christmas, and stuff.
Bleurgh.
I'm not a huge fan of it. Couple of reasons:
It's like picking a random in the street and making a holiday out of their birthday. Except: This random in the street didn't exist, and if he did, was certainly *not* the son of an imaginary dude in the sky who is supposedly omnipotent and good, which combined mean that logically, he can't exist, somebody else explained it somewhere, and I can't be bothered repeating it. Something along the lines of if he's good, then he would stop all evil, unless he isn't omnipotent, in which case that's a lie, unless he isn't good, in which case that's a lie. But hey.
The other reason is a lack of finances:
I never have enough money to get prezzies for even half the people I would love to get presents for.
Also, the one that actually bothers me least (Believe it or not, I can be quite not-materialistic sometimes) is that my entire family is broke, except for a couple who are vaguely not-broke, but insane. So I get crap or non-existent presents. Bleh, I get over it.
Even for those who are good Christians and yada yada, surely what we now have as Christmas can't be seen as a religioius holiday. Really, it's just an overly commercialised day, which should be just a little thing, and it gets lost in the whole, summer holidays thing we have here.
What I do quite like about Christmas, though, are the holidays, and the annual pickernick at the Cotter. Cotter Dam, by the way. Known as the Cotter. Has playground and picnic area and river and stuffs. Beh. My family and my mother's sister's family, usually minus Angus, go down to the Cotter, and sit around near the river, and eat. Nice food. So I mostly sit around in the biggest hat mother could find, and eat French bread with avocado and BBQ chicken, and drink apple juice out of a plastic wine glass while watching the kiddles play on the playground and run in circles and entertain themselves.
It's nice.
But Christmas is still... almost exactly a month... a month and... four days, I think, brain is dead and I don't know what day it is, away, and already people are going on about how excited about it they are. Meh.
Anyway, sleeping.

"Cheap Garden Hoses" or "Why I'm no longer allowed to sing in public"
Magpies aren't generally attractive birds, but a magpies stomach is rather cute.
In fact, most birds have quite adorable tummies...
I wish I had an adorable tummy...
But not with feathers on it, that would just be weird.
I've been putting off updating this cause I have so much to catch up on... But tis best to just bite the bullet (Dear God, that sounds like some awful, awful euphemism...) and update as best I can before my fingers fall off from typing too much.
Right!
So:
Noosa:
Trip up was fairly good. Long drives in my uncle's car are always soooo much less awful than long drives in either of our cars. For one thing, my uncle's car has waaaaaaaaay better speakers, and my brother isn't there to tell us to turn off the music, and my cousin and uncle had some pretty good CDs. I'll list some of the ones I remember later, but there was a lot of jazz and some random old music. But yes. Also lots of pie-eating for breakfast.
Noosa was great, the apartment was like, huge, and it had two balconies and there was a pool and spa and the bath had those funny little spa jet things in it and the shower had one of those awesome movable type shower heads, which are awesome cause they mean I can get shampoo and conditioner out of my hair without having to like, attack it.
I completely and utterly failed at a surfing lesson, which wasn't too cool, but hey.
I ate more instant noodles in a week than anybody should ever eat in a lifetime. (Yay!)
I saw soem random relatives I haven't seen in a while - both my mother's parents (Ilma and Bob), my aunt Fiona, her son Bruno (19 or summin like that), my mother's uncle Trevor, and her brother Craig.
Bob was slightly less awkward with the conversation than he was last time I saw him, and Bruno was a hell of a lot less awkward. Also he had a Terry Pratchett book which wins him BIG bonus points. I nearly cracked up laughing cause my little cousin Hamish was being sooo annoying to Bruno, which is exactly what I did when I was seven or eight. Poor Bruno. Ah well, I sort of made up for my annoyingness back then by distracting Hamish this time. Hamish has an obsession with Doctor Who, by the way.
The people I went up with were my mother's other sister's family - Adair, Nigel, Darcy (15) and Hamish (6 or something).
We had fish and chips one night, and Aunty Adair and Darcy both got haircuts, and we went out on a boat on Saturday morning, on the river in the vague direction of Towantin, or however the hell that's spelt.
But yes, Noosa was fairly awesome.
Which reminds me. Darcy says he wants to start a boy band called Fabulous Awesome Guys, or F.A.G. for short, and write love songs about almonds, lyrics about looking into people's retinas, and a song called "You Touched My Hair Gel, Now It's Over". Bahahah.
Anyway, music we listened to:
Arctic Monkeys
Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
Queen
Frank Sinatra
Some Guy Called Billy Field I'd Never Heard Of Till A Week Ago
Um... who else...
Some random band... The Eagles, or summin.
Eric Clapton
That guy who sang American Pie... Don McClean, or summin.
Lou Reed
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
The Travelling Wilburys
And...
Whoever it is that sung Mack The Knife.
[Edit: I forgot two! First one being Doris Day, second one being the almost-most-important, Van Morrison. Because the Van Morrison song was Moondance, which is one of the most utterly awesome songs ever. Take Five is another of those awesome songs, but I have no idea who it's by. Cept my cousin can play it on clarinet. Sounds awesome.]
Anyway, that be the cool musicalness we heard on the way to and from Queensland.
Also! Anna tipped me off to this awesome band, Wilco, from whom I've only actually heard one song. But it was a damn good song. Tis called 'Jesus, Etc.'.
Anyway, that be the Noosa and musical side of things done.
Since I got back:
I got back to discover that we now have a 320GB external hard drive. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!! Squeal! And I hugged it :P
Also that I now have a mini-a-tcha fridge under my desk, which I'm planning to gradually stock with Coke and chocolate. So far I have a 2L bottle of Coke. Yay =)
Which brings me to my awesome shopping trip yesterday.
I caught the Woden bus, on which I found Toby, who decided to come with me while I went to get my Coke, so that was cool. We couldn't find Woolworths, so we ended up in Big W, where I got my 2L bottle of cola-y goodness. I had forty cents change, which I gave to Toby, so he had sixty cents total, and decided to go on a quest to find a single can of Black & Gold (Non-brand-name) soft drink. Which of course he couldn't find. But by the time he gave up on that idea, we'd found Woollies and were in the confectionery aisle, where we found the Holy Milky Way Banana Whip... ™.... So. Then we wandered out to the front of Woden so Toby could catch his bus, and we found Ethan, so the three of us sat around there for a while, before their bus came and I wandered off home. It was quite fun, really.
Anyway, this morning as I was walking to school, some little tiny child shouted "Ga!" as I walked past (As you do...), and when I turned around he hugged my legs. Adorableness! Slightly random, but very cute! So that had me smiling for the rest of the day.
But yes, offwards time, mother is stealing the computer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was trying to put the lyrics to these songs into a collapsible list so they didn't all have to appear at once and make this post really long, but the html and javascript involved killed me. My toenails, the only surviving parts of me, are typing this.
Lyrics:
Arctic Monkeys:
- Mardy Bum
- Fake Tales of San Francisco
- When the Sun Goes Down
Four Seasons:
- Ragdoll
- Big Girls Don't Cry
- December 1963
- Who Loves You
Miscellaneous (stfu about the spelling. Gr...):
- Moondance - Van Morrison
- Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
- Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps - Doris Day
There, random lyrics. And the one I almost put up but ran out of time for is More - Frank Sinatra. If you want those lyrics, Google them.
Buh byes.
In fact, most birds have quite adorable tummies...
I wish I had an adorable tummy...
Which reminds me. Darcy says he wants to start a boy band called Fabulous Awesome Guys, or F.A.G. for short, and write love songs about almonds, lyrics about looking into people's retinas, and a song called "You Touched My Hair Gel, Now It's Over". Bahahah.
Anyway, music we listened to:
Arctic Monkeys
Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
Queen
Frank Sinatra
Some Guy Called Billy Field I'd Never Heard Of Till A Week Ago
Um... who else...
Some random band... The Eagles, or summin.
Eric Clapton
That guy who sang American Pie... Don McClean, or summin.
Lou Reed
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
The Travelling Wilburys
And...
Whoever it is that sung Mack The Knife.
[Edit: I forgot two! First one being Doris Day, second one being the almost-most-important, Van Morrison. Because the Van Morrison song was Moondance, which is one of the most utterly awesome songs ever. Take Five is another of those awesome songs, but I have no idea who it's by. Cept my cousin can play it on clarinet. Sounds awesome.]
Anyway, that be the cool musicalness we heard on the way to and from Queensland.
Also! Anna tipped me off to this awesome band, Wilco, from whom I've only actually heard one song. But it was a damn good song. Tis called 'Jesus, Etc.'.
Anyway, that be the Noosa and musical side of things done.
Since I got back:
I got back to discover that we now have a 320GB external hard drive. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!! Squeal! And I hugged it :P
Also that I now have a mini-a-tcha fridge under my desk, which I'm planning to gradually stock with Coke and chocolate. So far I have a 2L bottle of Coke. Yay =)
Which brings me to my awesome shopping trip yesterday.
I caught the Woden bus, on which I found Toby, who decided to come with me while I went to get my Coke, so that was cool. We couldn't find Woolworths, so we ended up in Big W, where I got my 2L bottle of cola-y goodness. I had forty cents change, which I gave to Toby, so he had sixty cents total, and decided to go on a quest to find a single can of Black & Gold (Non-brand-name) soft drink. Which of course he couldn't find. But by the time he gave up on that idea, we'd found Woollies and were in the confectionery aisle, where we found the Holy Milky Way Banana Whip... ™.... So. Then we wandered out to the front of Woden so Toby could catch his bus, and we found Ethan, so the three of us sat around there for a while, before their bus came and I wandered off home. It was quite fun, really.
Anyway, this morning as I was walking to school, some little tiny child shouted "Ga!" as I walked past (As you do...), and when I turned around he hugged my legs. Adorableness! Slightly random, but very cute! So that had me smiling for the rest of the day.
But yes, offwards time, mother is stealing the computer.
I was trying to put the lyrics to these songs into a collapsible list so they didn't all have to appear at once and make this post really long, but the html and javascript involved killed me. My toenails, the only surviving parts of me, are typing this.
Lyrics:
Arctic Monkeys:
- Mardy Bum
- Fake Tales of San Francisco
- When the Sun Goes Down
Four Seasons:
- Ragdoll
- Big Girls Don't Cry
- December 1963
- Who Loves You
Miscellaneous (stfu about the spelling. Gr...):
- Moondance - Van Morrison
- Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
- Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps - Doris Day
There, random lyrics. And the one I almost put up but ran out of time for is More - Frank Sinatra. If you want those lyrics, Google them.
Buh byes.
