Oh my god blog.
Ba-log-a-log.
Boing.
Man.
Pfft.
Party on Saturday was for the most part very awesome indeed, though I missed some due to... conversations... that required all of my attention... yes... Also I missed a lot of the best parts 'cause mother wouldn't let me stay overnight :( Which sucks, because I wasn't drunk, and nearly everyone else was, and I wanted to laugh at all of their hangovers... Bwahahaha... evil Caitlin.
Funny moments include:
All of the girls, plus Ryan, putting plaits in Graeme's hair.
Steven walking into the sliding screen door and knocking it out of its hinges. (Very funny at the time. Maybe it's one of those only-funny-when-drunk things... not that I was drunk... >.>)
Mandy's reaction when she was allowed to get to the alcohol (she had to wait till after she was sent to collect Kim, because she was driving)
Skye's storage of the bottles and lollies, both full and empty (the microwave).
The game of Dare. Funniest moment from that that I remember and actually noticed, was Steven being dared to leave the room, and come back naked apart from a conveniently placed hat. He actually did it ^-^
Apparently Maddie got really drunk later in the night, but I missed it =( Which sucks, because when I left she was all stressed and very much sober.
Anyway, school is le bleurgh.
Funny that this spell check rejects 'Mandy', 'Maddie' and 'Graeme', as well as 'boing' and 'bla', but not the word that I thought I just made up - 'bleurgh'. How very peculiar...
Anyway, school is crap. I have several ToK journals and an English assignment due Monday, and a psychology one the week after, as well as a photography one I'm-not-sure-when and a ToK essay in week ten, and a drama one in the first or maybe second week back of school after the holidays. Also it's currently week seven, and week nine is cross-line testing week - that is, everybody has tests. On practically everything. Stressful and very crap. Bleurgh.
Bla, I had an awful cold yesterday and I wasn't quite over it today, so I stayed home, and I hung out the washing twice (that means I loaded the washing machine once. I'm very proud of that, as I hadn't used the new(ish) washing machine yet, and had no idea how to do it.) as well as eating cold pasta and porridge (not together >.<), playing guitar and piano, listening to music, noticing strange things (in my parent's en suite there are two towels, a pink one and a blue one; we have eleven junk mail catalogues on the bench to be thrown out; the shower head needs adjusting; our washing machine takes 7kg of clothes... etc.) and generally avoiding doing anything constructive (like my English or psychology assignments). Because we couldn't have that, could we?
Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away
Quotes of Awesomeness from The Science of Discworld:
"'Where am I exactly?'
'Er... a sort of magical world with no one in it but yourself.'
'Oh, you mean the sort everyone lives in.'"
"The author blinked.
'Tell me, then,' he said, 'is Man an ape, or is he an angel?'
The Librarian knew this one.
'Ook,' he said, which meant: ape is best, because you don't have to fly and you're allowed sex, unless you work at Unseen University, worst luck."
(Note that the librarian of Unseen University is, to all extents and purposes, an orangutan, and that the library of Unseen University has a tendency to lead one to various strange places and times - say, for example, the writing desk of a certain author writing a book about evolution.)
"'The Luggage may consist of a subset of at least n dimensions which may co-exist with any other set of >n dimensions,' said the Bursar.
'Don't pay any attention, Stibbons,' said Ridcully wearily. 'He's been spouting this stuff ever since he tried to understand HEX's write-out. It's completely gibberish. What's "n" then, old chap?'
'Umpt,' said the Bursar.
'Ah, imaginary numbers again,' said the Dean. 'That's the one he says should come between three and four.'
'There isn't a number between three and four,' said Ridcully.
'He imagines there is,' said the Dean."
The Bursar is my favourite character, along with the Librarian, as well perhaps as Death, and possibly Rincewind, too, seeing as he's the one who survived in Fourecks/EcksEcksEcksEcks/XXXX/Australia in The Last Continent.
"He opened the door.
A couple of white pigeons flew out, followed by a billiard ball. Ponder pulled aside a cluster of flags of all nations.
'Just natural fallout,' he called out. 'Oh...'
The Bursar ambled around the right side of the reacting engine, waving a squash racquet.
'Ah, Ponder,' he said. 'Have you ever wondered if Time isn't simply Space through a right angle?'
'Er... no...' said Ponder, watching the man carefully for signs of thaumic breakdown.
'It would certainly make pretzels very interesting, don't you think?'
'Er... have you being playing squash, sir?' said Ponder.
'You know I'm really coming to believe that a closed contour is a boundary, up to parametrization, if and only if it is homotopic to zero,' said the Bursar. 'And, for preference, coloured green.'
'Did you touch any switches, sir?' said Ponder, maintaining a careful distance.
'This thingy here does make some shots very difficult,' said the Bursar, hitting the reacting engine. .'I was trying to hit the rear wall around it last Wednesday.'
'I think perhaps we should leave,' said Ponder in a clear, firm tone. 'It will soon be teatime. There will be jelly,' he added.
'Ah, the fifth form of matter,' said the Bursar brightly, following Ponder."
I love Discworld booksies... Terry Pratchett = god. Seriously. Some newspaper said about his novels, "Terry Pratchett has done for fantasy what Douglas Adams did for science fiction.", which is high praise indeed. You will understand what high praise this is if you've read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. If you haven't read it, go read it now. Along with 1984. And the His Dark Materials trilogy. Books = love. Music also = love. Therefore, books = music. But, books ≠ music, therefore, - *spontaneously combusts*
Spontaneous combustion = peanut.
I am going to go design a Vegemite castle, with carrot stick window frames and candy flags.
Do not even think about how awful that would taste.
Or, for that matter, how impossible it would be to live in.
The idea is to have an idea. It doesn't need to be a practical concept.
Enjoy your days, nights, weeks, months, years, and lives. They really are just for us to enjoy.
No, I'm not high.
=)
*hugs*

Puzzling Perplexed Pandemonium, of the Pleasing Variety.
Day off school t'day, cause of that ebil cold of ebilness.
I should have spent the day -
Doing that Japanese assignment
Tidying up the mess in my room, or at least disrupting some of the ecosystems that are forming in That Corner
Hanging out and bringing in the washing
Stacking and unstacking the dishwasher
Starting my maths assignment
Amongst other things.
I spent the day -
Listening to music (Queen, Wilco, The Beatles and The Arctic Monkeys. All hail my gorgeous music taste =P)
Writing pages and pages of random nonsense, to be sent as an email-of-sorts once I got online
Searching the parents' room at random for the internet cable and modem thing, and/or anything else that was interesting/tasted good
Having a two-hour shower. ^-^
Tasting all of my make up, nail polish, textas and other colourful things (My tongue is currently an odd shade of green-orange-blue-ness)
Eating random stuff, like cardboard, chicken soup, and a tangled mess of dental floss
Sitting in the hammock and pondering the meaning of life. Or perhaps just the meaning of working...
Napping
And various other forms of über-procrastination.
Oh, yes, and I forgot 'swearing at the shower door after managing to make my foot bleed using the edge of said door in an unrivalled act of uncoordination'.
Which I just remembered as I kicked the desk with aforementioned foot.
Pain.
Swearing.
More pain.
Now I'm kind-of-working while waiting for anyone interesting to come online.
Hm, it might help if I opened MSN.
Aha, Miss Anna, she's always good conversation.
Excellent music taste, too =P
Except for that one time, when she was eight...
Heh.
Nevermind.
But yes.
Continuous check of LotGD to see if anyone interesting is online. By 'anyone interesting' I probably only mean one person, who I simply refuse to name =P
No one on AIM...
Jess & Martin are on MSN, but away/busy... Anna is on MSN, nexcellent, nexcellent...
Hm... I wonder if I could re-get Yahoo... seeing as we have this new space and stuff...
Hmmliness...
Possibly. Depends who has Yahoo. I only had like, two contacts on there, and one of them had MSN and the other wasn't speaking to me, which is part of the reason I got rid of it. The other part was the lack of space. Now that I have space, I might download it again, provided enough people I know use it...
Hiccup.
Man, I'm bored.
Dratted work...
Hm... one person online on GD...
Bleh, enough to sign in for.
Grr! That one person who was online who I bothered to sign in to talk to was all, slay-you-while-you-sleep crap. Grumble! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go play the game. Now. Tis an awesomely humourously addictive game that will end up ruling your life. And it will be so subtle that you won't even notice. Bwahahahahah. I mean... *cough*
Anyway.
Off GD again. Bleurh.
TV now, too. Probably not going to help with the work.
Meh.
Woot, Spicks & Specks.
Un-woot, I just hit my knee on the desk.
Pain.
Aw, that song is adorable, given the context and the video clip and all. The Sweetest Thing - U2. End credits song plus video clip on Spicks & Specks.
Bah, well, has to go.

Sniffle
Urgh, god. I hab de borst gold eber.
Yeurk.
Stupid cold. I've been sick since like, Wednesday last week, and I haven't been able to breathe through my nose since Friday. Geurgh...
So like, Friday, I kind of had a bit of a breakdown at lunch, and I don't really remember anything between heading towards the front office with the idea of calling a parent and going home and suddenly realising I was at homedrinking tea and blowing my nose repeatedly. So I sort of have no idea what I did or said between then... eh.
I went down to Woden and back three times on Saturday. Eurgh, exercise. I went down once by myself to get another internet cord and collect my photos from Big W, then I went down with Mother & Connor to get my glasses fixed and buy some new sheets, and then I went down to hang out with Izzy, which was for like, two and a half hours, which involved wandering out to The Art Store and Saddle World and some beading shop in Phillip, so I got home and was like, completely dead, and then I had to try to learn this stoopid math stuff for the retest which may or may not be today but could be on Wednesday. -.-"
Sunday morning would have been really cool, cause like, there was the chance of a phone call, and then I remembered I'd organised for Mr. Neighbour to come over and explain the maths stuff to me, and I'm like, Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! and then when I finally finished that, and got back online, no one was on. And then I forgot all the maths stuff anyway when I tried to go over it before bed. Shite.
Glurg, glurg glurg ggeurglegalureljaeglrakehhleuuerealrereurhgh...
I can't breathe, gah, and my head is like, dun, dun, dun PAIN and my eyes are watering and my throat hurts cause I keep coughing and sneezing all the time. And Mother wouldn't let me stay home because that maths test may be today.
But yes, Becky called on Friday and was all apologetic for not telling me she was moving. I may or may not have forgiven her =P
And I'm a little sort of shocked from something I heard on Sunday, which I should probably not publish to the web, but chances are I'll tell most of the people I know read this about it anyway. But yes. Very odd. Rather surprising. Hm.
Anyways. Grumble grumble stupid blocked tagboard. Waaaah!! If you comment, I can read your comments, but I can't read the tagboard, so that sucks. Grr... *sneezes*
Gack.
Also! I can legally drive today! Once I get my licence, that is. I'll have to see about going down and getting it on like, the weekend, or better still, this afternoon, with a parent. Watch out peoples, Caitlin's gonna be in charge of a car =P
*sneezes*
Anyway, offwards time.

Stabby pointy metal things that hurt
Well, well, well.
Piano, shmeh.
Felt like crap, and just couldn't handle the thought of school, so... mother let me stay home...
Came home... internetted while mother went on a run... got off internet when she came back, and back on again when she went to body balance... got yelled at by Someone I was talking to, which sorta screwed up my mood for the rest of the day, especially when the nurse lady at the blood test place jumped as she was poking my elbow with the needle thing cause someone said something about a rat. Stupid bleeding arm. Wouldn't stop blinking bleeding... and then I felt all dizzy and fell asleep for a while. I haven't felt dizzy after a blood test before, so I dunno if that was it or what... but hey...
Mm... head hurts... was trying to do World Issues work before, but not getting far... it's a pretty cool assignment... we get to do a report on basically any world issue, like poverty or sustainable energy, or obesity as an epidemic... pretty cool... but I still can't concentrate on it.
On the Australian amnesty international site, and probably on any other A.I. sites, there's a link to support them by buying music through them, and when you click on that, there's a 'Tell a Friend' link. When you click on that there's an awesome background, and me and my super technological skillxxørz turned it into my background on the laptop. Might try and make it into a blogskin. If I could be bothered. Or see if Jess wants to. Meh. Tis pretty cool.
I think you can get to it by clicking on this button...

In fact, they use one of the songs in a video, and it sounds pretty good. I think they're all Lennon covers, but I'm not sure. The one in the video is Isolation, which is apparently the one Snow Patrol covered. Sounds pretty cool.
Mm. Snow Patrol. Huggles to my music. I'm listening to Snow Patrol's 'Run' at the moment. One of my all time favourite songs. Tis good, tis good...
Myes... ate a whole pizza for dinner, and now feel sick... my head hurts and I'm sleepy... and not at all sure why I bothered to come online...
Meh, I'll stick around for half an hour or an hour or so, see if anyone interesting comes online... otherwise, I'm off to bed pretty early t'night.
Bobble.
Buh byes.

Just a continuation of my first impressions last time of the beta blogger - still have found no problems, and everything works wonderfully. I love the simplicity of adding widgets into the layout, but am glad they kept the html editing options. It just makes it a lot easier than having to trawl through pages of html to find the section I'm trying to edit. Everything just flows better. I still have to be careful not to fall into the trap I encountered with MSN spaces, of filling the page with endless lists that nobody will read. I may already have fallen into that particular trap... but I'll try not to dig myself in any deeper.
Ooh, blue person.
